Where Is the Outrage?

Events of the past year show that Americans will become outraged, and publicly, vocally, and loudly protest any time that the liberal/socialist movement tries to do anything that limits their gun rights.  However, when atrocities come to light about abortion, the majority of Americans remain silent.

A huge flap has arisen over remarks made by the father patriarch, Phil Robertson, of the show Duck Dynasty.  The shows producer, A&E, fired the patriarch, while still attempting to continue to make money off of Duck Dynasty.  “What?  That's not about guns, that's about free speech!”

Actually it's not.  Duck Dynasty is a show about rednecks and their guns.  It is incidentally a show about family values, and even those are not the greatest at times.  Yes, we have watched the show, and it was taken off our children's watch list some time ago for not being family friendly enough.  If Duck Dynasty was a show about an Amish or Mennonite family, who did not own any guns and solved their problems in a quiet, peaceful manner, without any explosions, or Vietnam flashbacks, or promoting the hunting of animals, then this family show would not be a commercial success at all.

Duck Dynasty is a success because it promotes guns, hunting, and redneck antics, staged or not.  The very business of the Duck Commander company is selling duck calls for the purpose of hunting ducks.  The business and the show genuinely revolves around the culture of guns.

The patriarch would never have been interviewed in a national magazine if Duck Dynasty was not first a very successful show, built on the popularity of the gun culture.

In the interview, the patriarch expresses some views that are obviously not shared by those he was criticizing.  The LGBT crowd loudly protested because they don't like being told that everything they do is a sin in the eyes of God.  We do agree with the patriarch on that point, as sexual perversions of any kind are sins in the eyes of God.  We also agree that he has the right to express his view publicly.

A&E, as a private corporation also has the right to disassociate itself with anyone that does not agree with their corporate beliefs and culture.  When they exercised their rights, the response was loud and immediate.  Never mind the fact that A&E has been hypocritically making money off of Duck Dynasty for some time now when it is obvious that A&E does not support the values of the Robertson family.  Disagreements over editing decisions between A&E and the Robertsons have made this clear.

Our problem is not that the Robertsons stood up for their rights, or that their fans backed them.  Our problem, and it's not just our problem, it is America's problem, is that people do not express the same kind of outrage over the abortion murder of innocent babies.

The same week that the Phil Robertson flap expanded beyond all initial belief, a grand jury in Texas refused to indict a mass murdering abortionist who twists the heads off of babies that have survived abortions and been born alive.  Where is the outrage?

Just weeks before, 54% of the voters of Albuquerque, New Mexico voted that it is perfectly okay to murder babies in their mother's womb after 20 weeks of pregnancy.  Where is the outrage?

Where was the outrage of the Albuquerque voters that allowed the legalized serial murder of well developed babies to be upheld as law?  Where was the outrage of a nation that there could be such a place in America?

When Phil Robertson was speaking against sin, he failed to mention abortion.  The patriarch was asked to name his definition of sinful behavior, and was not asked specifically about the sexual perversions he mentioned.  Where was Phil Robertson's outrage over the abortion murder of approximately 3304 babies the same day he gave the interview?  Why did he not mention abortion murder, or make clear that it is the number one sin in America?

Where is the outrage that every single day since this flap started, an average of 3304 babies have been slaughtered in their mother's womb?  Sometimes horrifically and horribly slaughtered in places like Albuquerque, New Mexico, where late term abortions have been upheld by the majority of the voters.

Where is the outrage that abortion in America slaughters the same number of babies as the Sandy Hook massacre EVERY 2.5 MINUTES?

There is the equivalent of 165 Sandy Hook Massacres in America EVERY SINGLE DAY!  Where is the outrage?

There is no outrage.  The outrage was saved for when the liberals/socialists tried to impose more gun controls after the slaughter of only 20 babies.  Then Americans became outraged over gun control.

The liberals were right to be outraged over the Sandy Hook Massacre.  But where is the liberal outrage over the equivalent of 165 Sandy Hook Massacres in America EVERY SINGLE DAY?

If Americans were as outraged about the Abortion Holocaust in America, as they get about their guns, then abortion could be stopped, even abolished in America in spite of the politicians and the courts.

If Americans cared about Unborn babies as much as they cared about their guns, they would be outraged.  Not only would they be outraged, they would share that outrage and put an end to abortion murder.  The slaughter goes on, not because of politicians and judges, but because Americans are not outraged about 3304 babies being slaughtered in this country EVERY SINGLE DAY!

Where is the outrage?
